Super isn’t just about retirement, it’s a smart way to: Save on tax Build wealth over time Feel more secure about your future

Want to Boost Your Super (and Lower Your Tax Bill)?

June 06, 20252 min read

Every year around this time, a little alarm bell goes off in my head:
“Have I sorted my super contributions yet?”

For some clients, it’s a quick yes.

For others, it’s more like, "Ugh… I forgot again."

Last year, someone emailed me on June 29 asking if they could still contribute.
Let’s just say—it was a little too close for comfort (and the deadline).

The good news? If you’re reading this, you still have time.

Super isn’t just about retirement—it’s a smart way to:

  • Save on tax

  • Build wealth over time

  • Feel more secure about your future

Here’s a quick breakdown of the contribution types and caps for this financial year:

  1. Pre-Tax (Concessional) – Total cap: $30,000
Includes employer super guarantee (currently 11.5%), salary sacrifice, and personal deductible contributions.

  2. Post-Tax (Non-Concessional) – Total cap: $120,000

Includes personal contributions made from after-tax income. If eligible, this may also trigger a Government Co-Contribution—a helpful boost from the ATO.

  3. Spouse Contribution – Up to $3,000

If eligible, making a contribution to your spouse’s super fund may give you a tax offset of up to $540.

If you’re one of our Wealth Partner Plan clients or we’ve prepared a plan for you in the past 12 months or currently preparing one, you’ll receive a personalised email next week with your exact recommended contribution amounts.

If we haven’t provided advice recently (or ever), and you’re unsure whether super contributions are right for you this year—get in touch.

We’re happy to help you figure it out.

As always, if you have any questions, just reply to this email—we’re here to support you.

Here’s to finishing the financial year strong!
